What is the difference between a smoke curtain and a fire curtain?
A smoke curtain primarily supports smoke containment, reservoir formation or channeling. A fire curtain is selected for a defined fire-resistance performance. Some products may provide combined functions, but classifications and approved applications must be checked rather than assumed.
Do you provide smoke and fire curtain installation in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Africa?
Yes. SFC Experts considers specialist assignments across Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, the wider GCC, Kenya/Africa and other suitable international locations. Mobilization depends on scope, programme, approvals and commercial arrangements.
Can you troubleshoot or repair an existing curtain system?
Yes. Support can include condition surveys, fault diagnosis, control-panel and interface checks, fabric/guide inspections, corrective planning, component replacement coordination, testing and recommissioning.
Can smoke and fire curtains connect to the fire alarm or BMS?
Yes, when the approved design requires it. Interfaces may include activation, status, fault, emergency retract and monitored contacts. The final cause-and-effect sequence must be coordinated with the fire-alarm/BMS teams and verified during commissioning.
Do you provide testing, commissioning and maintenance?
Yes. Scope may include dimensional and installation checks, drop/cycle testing, interface verification, emergency-control tests, fault review, preventive maintenance, corrective work, reports and operator training.
Which smoke and fire curtain brands have you worked with?
Documented project experience includes Coopers Fire, IMFire, Firemac and BLE systems. Brand experience does not imply current dealership or authorization, and the correct system must be selected against the project’s approved requirements.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide the project location, architectural/fire-strategy drawings, opening dimensions, required performance/classification, quantity, system type, interface requirements, ceiling/structure details, project stage and programme. A site survey or technical meeting may be required.
Do you provide technical or O&M training?
Yes. Project-specific training can cover operation, controls, emergency functions, routine inspections, drop testing, fault awareness, safe reset and maintenance responsibilities. Training scope must match the installed manufacturer’s system.
Are ordinary air curtains the same as smoke or fire curtains?
No. A commercial air curtain uses an air stream to reduce infiltration, dust, insects or conditioned-air loss. It is not a certified smoke or fire barrier unless the exact product has specific tested and approved performance for that application.
Can a curtain be modified on site?
Only within an approved, technically controlled solution that preserves the product’s evidence, geometry, materials and manufacturer/authority requirements. Unapproved fabric, headbox, guide or control modifications may invalidate performance and acceptance.
